Southwest Section Annual Holiday Dinner

The American Alpine Club’s Southwest Section presents it’s Annual Holiday Dinner at the Taix Restaurant in Los Angeles (911 West Sunset Boulevard Los Angeles, CA 90026).  It’s just around the corner so register today!

Cocktail hour begins at 6:00pm, followed by a gourmet dinner at 7:00pm–options include chicken cordon bleu, short ribs provencal, and risotto portabello.

Mark Richey will be the guest speaker for the evening.  His program will begin at 8:00pm.    Mark began climbing and exploring in 1973 at age 15 in the Quincy Quarries of Massachusetts.  Adept at all forms of climbing, he has made over 40 expeditions to the greater mountain ranges throughout the world with a focus towards technical alpine style ascents, exploratory climbing, and adventurous travel. Notable climbs include; Saser Kangri II East – the second highest unclimbed mountain in the world, the first alpine-style ascent of Latok II, Chacraraju Este, Cordillera Blanca: new route on the South face, Yamandaka, North Face, Indian Karakorum, Shiviling, Garhwal Himalaya, India and Everest to name just a very few!!

Please come and join us in celebrating the mountain culture and camaraderie!
All are welcome to attend, members and non members alike!

The cost for the evening $40 dollars with all proceeds going to support the Southwest Section of the American Alpine Club.
