Climbing outing to Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area

Looking to go climbing for the day but don’t have a climbing partner? Want to explore a new climbing area? Join AAC Members in the Mid-Atlantic Section for a day of multi-pitch climbing in the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area (DWGNRA or DWG). Share the end of a rope with other AAC members and climb routes on either New Jersey’s Mount Tammany or Pennsyvania’s Mount Minsi.

Please note: these are not guided climbs and no teaching or instruction will be offered. This is just a social gathering of AAC Members who will then self-organize for a day of climbing together. If you have any questions, please call or email our AAC Volunteer Host Barry Rusnock at Phone: 908-619-9699, Email: Barry@Riverviewoac.com.

WHERE AND WHEN:
We will meet as a group in the parking lot of the Pennsylvania Welcome Center, located directly off I-80 and River Road (located on the Pennsylvania side of the DWG). Both sides of the DWG can easily be accessed from the visitor’s center parking lot. Members can peruse guidebooks, partner up, and select routes and drive over to the trailhead from this central meeting spot.  After the climbing, meet at the Deerhead Inn for
diner and and drinks.

Date: Saturday – August 4, 2012
Time: 9:00 am – 5:00 pm
COST:  No change

WHO:  AAC members and their guests
