Become What You Dream Seventh Annual Adventure Film Festival

Behold the idealized beauty, carved by unbridled passion, at the seventh annual Adventure Film Festival premiere November 3-5, 2011 in Boulder, Colorado. Through the craftsmanship of award-winning filmmakers, extreme athletes, and adventurers, take a rite of passage to live out your deepest desires in nature’s most mysterious and enchanting kingdoms. Freedive 101 meters into the world’s deepest blue hole. Summit an 8000 meter peak in Pakistan’s bitter winter. Paddle the Congo’s unnavigated Lukuga River. Climb golden granite boulders surrounded by snowy Himalayan peaks. Fool around on Norway’s sea ice. Pedal a seatless unicycle off the beaten path in Alaska. Become a warrior, dancer, healer, storyteller. Become what you dream.

Presented by Patagonia, this three-day festival at the Boulder Theater and REI premieres a highly diverse collection of 40 insightful and award-winning outdoor and environmental films that share the spirit of adventure. Community Night kick-off party Thursday at Patagonia Boulder with music, refreshments and film previews. Photography Seminar with Keith Ladzinski and Filmmaker’s Workshop at REI with Colorado’s video journalist Ryan Van Duzer, filmmaker Bob Carmichael, and Condorcam’s owner/designer Jesse Placky. Also featuring a new Kid’s Film Festival, Jonny Copp Photo Exhibit at Amante (Walnut), Jeremy Collin’s The Wolf and the Medallion live-art performance, athlete and filmmaker appearances, massive gear giveaways, and a rockin’ after party with the local ‘80s band, The Goonies.

Adventure Film’s powerful line-up was handpicked by a dedicated, Boulder-based selection committee from over 200 entries submitted from 15 different countries. With the support of filmmakers, sponsors, non-profits, partners, volunteers—all adventurers—Adventure Film Festival will feature the 2011 award winners on World Tour that reached 26,000 people last year in six major US cities, Chamonix, France; Santiago, Chile and Sydney, Australia.
