We posted a note on Facebook asking if folks in the Northeast needed help cleaning up after Irene and received this important note:

The towns of Tannersville and Phoenicia in the catskills were destroyed. Ice climbers & skiers visit these towns all winter long. 24K people in Ulster county w/o electricity.
