This Thirsty Third Thursday: Bold and Bright
Bold lines and bright colors are the signatures of Jesse Crock, acrylic painter, art teacher, and outdoor enthusiast. The work testifies to his passions. It has the wildness of a creator; the discipline of a mentor; and the subjects of a person utterly infatuated with climbing, mountainbiking, skiing, and kayaking.
This month’s Thirsty Third Thursday at the American Mountaineering Center—5:30 p.m. on February 17—is the official opening of Jesse Crock’s latest art exhibition, which features 13 outdoorsy paintings and several smaller illustrations. All the works you see here are on display.
The AAC is thrilled to have Jesse’s eye-catching work just down the hall. Drop by and check it out for yourself. If you fall in love with a piece (the odds are good), all pieces are for sale, and a portion of the proceeds go to benefit the American Mountaineering Museum. Jesse’s exhibit has replaced Alpine Styles, and is hanging now through the beginning of March.
Thirsty Third Thursdays are a monthly tradition at the American Mountaineering Center in downtown Golden, CO, the site of AAC headquarters. As always, enjoy $2 brews, live music and giveaways, along with free admission to the museum. This Thirsty Third Thursday will also celebrate the third anniversary of the American Mountaineering Museum, which opened on February 16, 2008.
Jesse’s work has been commissioned for the Ouray Ice Climbing Festival and for the Moonlight Classic Bike Festival in Denver. You also can find his art featured in Rock and Ice, Mountain Flyer, and Climbing.
