Over 200 Florida Climbers At AAC Movie Night

Posted on: May 13th, 2010 by Luke Bauer

Tuesday night, May 11, 2010, saw over 200 climbers attending the first ever American Alpine Club event held in the Tampa Bay area. The event, organized by AAC Ambassador Gary Ruhl, was hosted by Vertical Ventures Climbing Gym in Tampa, FL. The night’s festivities included climbing movies, music, free beer furnished by Magic Hat Brewery and free pizza provided by Mellow Mushroom. Vertical Ventures offered every attendee half-priced climbing and everyone coming through the door received raffle tickets for items donated by the American Alpine Club, Tampa Bay Outfitters, and Vertical Ventures. Many attendees had finished their college finals only hours before and the energy and enthusiasm was through the roof.

Special thanks go out to Vertical Ventures, Jesse Morris and Magic Hat Brewery, Mellow Mushroom, Egan and Brandi and Tampa Bay Outfitters, Morgan Ruhl, Susan White, and Jorge and Crew from the Rock Climbing Club @ USF.
