2010 Michigan Ice Fest Brings Largest Turnout To Date
Good news from the Michigan Ice Fest! Mild temperatures greeted 481 participants, an Ice Fest record! Climbers were visiting from 11 different states and Canada, with the furthest traveled being from California.
Days were spent at clinics, demos, and exploring Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore climbs. After hard days of climbing, participants were treated to free beer compliments of La Sportiva and Osprey Backpacks and slideshows featuring Barry Blanchard, Ben Clark, and Raphael Slawinski. We recruited new members to the AAC community and all who came out for the Fest had a generally great time.
I just wanted to say thank you so much for helping to make the Michigan Ice Fest such a big success this year and look forward making next year’s event even more successful.
-Bill Thompson, Great Lakes Section Chair for the AAC.
